We value our employees as our most important resource. To promote our employees’ strengths and potential, we have developed the “ARQIS Academy”, our firm’s specific development and training programme.
The Academy encompasses three training modules with specific training elements for each career step: legal, commercial and soft skills. Thus, we support our employees to develop personally and technically.
The legal training focuses on developing our lawyers’ technical knowledge.
The “Breakfast Meeting” is held monthly and includes training elements on a specific legal topic from the areas of Corporate law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Labour and Employment law and IP law.
Our “Lecture Lunches” are joint lunches for all lawyers during which colleagues hold presentations and speeches on current legal issues from the various areas of law. In addition to discussing legal topics, the lawyers get the opportunity to deepen their knowledge not only in their own, but also in other legal areas.
Lawyers may participate in external trainings which enable them to gain specific knowledge in their field of practice (Fachanwaltslehrgang). For example, there are trainings in the areas of Labour and Employment law, Commercial and Corporate law or IP law.
Additionally, our lawyers regularly participate in external seminars and conferences in their area of practice. Topics discussed are e. g. “M&A in practice”, “Updates on limited liability company law” or “Focus on Labour and Employment law”.
This part of our academy focuses on broadening the economic and commercial knowledge of our lawyers.
The lawyers’ knowledge of economic and commercial correlations is deepened by attending in-house trainings on topics such as “balance sheet analysis”, “valuation of corporations” and “tax law”.
As of a seniority of about four years our lawyers attend trainings which enhance their management and leadership skills to prepare them for future possible managerial tasks. By attending in-house or external seminars at renowned training providers such as Bucerius Law School, our Managing Associates develop and deepen their skills in the areas of marketing, business development, project- and change management as well as strategy development.
Our lawyers strengthen and develop their soft skills by attending internal and external seminars and trainings, e. g. in the areas of time and self-management, presentation skills and rhetorical skills.
Managing Associates will also participate in trainings focussing on leadership skills.
Another element of this module is a training which strengthens the attendees’ ability to deal with difficult situations and conflicts.
