ARQIS advises SKYFive on its global expansion

23. August 2022

ARQIS has advised SKYFive on its global Air-to-Ground (A2G) service expansion with three new strategic investment partners, Peiker Holding, ANSAB and ATKA Capital.

With its new investors SKYFive is equipped for further growth in three key dimensions: Along the service expansion and value chain, by adding its own traffic shaping middleware to the onboard aircraft solution; geographically, by proliferating A2G in the Middle East; and financially, by enabling the capability to pre-finance aircraft equipment and thus lower the entry threshold for airlines.

SKYFive has been established as a spin-off from Nokia in 2019 with its headquarters in Munich, Germany. They provide Inflight Connectivity services to the aviation industry, based on their patented Air-to-Ground technology and operate several sites for R&D and service delivery in major aviation markets.

ARQIS advised SKYFive right from the start with the acquisition of the core assets for the Air-to-Ground business by way of an MBO. The team led by Dr. Mauritz von Einem and Prof. Dr. Christoph von Einem subsequently accompanied several financing rounds and SKYFive’s conversion into a stock corporation in summer 2020.

Advisors to SKYFive:

(Munich): Dr. Mauritz von Einem, Prof. Dr. Christoph von Einem (both lead/ transactions), Marcus Nothhelfer (IP), Dr. Hendrik von Mellenthin (Labour Law); Managing Associates: Benjamin Bandur (Transactions), Nora Meyer-Stratmann (IP); Associates: Anselm Graf (Transactions), Virginia Mäurer (Labour Law)
