ARQIS advises EWB on the acquisition of real estate and part of Bremer GmbH's operations
15. August 2022
ARQIS has advised Eisenwerk Bassum GmbH (EWB) on the acquisition of a commercial site and the welding production division from Bremer GmbH.
The property of Bremer GmbH, which is active in steel and metal construction and is located in the immediate vicinity of EWB’s headquarters, will be taken over together with the production halls, the welding shop and the 29 employees working there. The former Bremer production facility thus becomes part of the EWB headquarters, which doubles the size of its premises. Following the expiry of necessary deadlines, the transfer of operations will take place on September 1, 2022. EWB, a wholly owned subsidiary of GNS Gesellschaft für Nuklear-Service mbH, will thus achieve a significant increase in the production capacity of steel containers for the final disposal of radioactive waste.
The ARQIS team under the leadership of Eberhard Hafermalz recently accompanied another asset deal of GNS and is thus once again acting in an advisory capacity for the GNS group of companies. In Mülheim an der Ruhr, GNS took over a manufacturer for the nickel plating of nuclear containers.
Advisors to GNS:
ARQIS (Düsseldorf): Eberhard Hafermalz Lead, Corporate/M&A), Dr. Ulrich Lienhard (Real Estate),
Lisa-Marie Niklas (Labour Law), Dr. Friedrich Gebert (Regulatory); Counsel: Dr. Deniz Günal (M&A),
Jens Knipping (Tax); Associates: Kiyomi Katrin Zimmer (Corporate/M&A)
