ARQIS advises BME on two Transactions further widening its German Expansion

Most recently, ARQIS advised BME Group on the acquisition of Heinrichs Fliesenmarkt in Northern Germany. The acquisition further builds out BME Group´s tiles competencies in Germany, where the company is one of the leading Sanitary, Heating and Plumbing distributors.
Tiles specialist Heinrichs Fliesenmarkt will be bolt-on to the Paulsen business, allowing it to offer complete bathroom solutions. Heinrichs Fliesenmarkt is owned and managed by its founder Mr Heinrich Drews, who will retire after a handover period. The company will then be managed directly by the Paulsen management team.
Earlier this year ARQIS has advised BME on the acquisition of Baucentrum Cronrath’s general building materials (GBM) distribution activities from the shareholders of Cronrath. This enabled BME to strengthen its footprint in the Western German market.
BME is one of Europe’s leading building material distribution companies and active in Germany under the brands Bauking and Mahler (distributors of general building materials) as well as Paulsen Gruppe, Detering, Bergmann & Franz (distributors of Sanitary, Heating & Plumbing materials).
BME (held by Blackstone) has once again expressed its confidence in the ARQIS team led by Dr. Jörn-Christian Schulze. ARQIS already published BME’s purchase of the Mahler Group – a leading general building materials and tiles distributor in Bavaria and the acquisition of Detering Group last year.
