The Düsseldorf office of ARQIS has been strengthened with Lisa-Marie Niklas as of 1st September 2021. The 40-year-old labour law specialist joins from the Cologne office of law firm CMS Hasche Sigle and becomes partner in the HR.Law by ARQIS focus group.

“We are very pleased to have won Lisa-Marie Niklas to expand our labour law practice,” says Dr. Andrea Panzer-Heemeier, head of the HR.Law by ARQIS focus group and managing partner of the firm. “She is a perfect fit for HR.Law by ARQIS: due to her many years of practice, she is very familiar with all issues that affect companies in connection with HR. She knows how to find innovative solutions pragmatically and in the interest of her clients. With her consulting expertise, we serve our rapidly growing area of restructuring consulting and our interface with the focus group Data.Law by ARQIS in employee data protection, especially in the operational implementation of IT projects.”

Lisa-Marie Niklas started her career as a lawyer in the labour law team of CMS partner Prof. Dr. Björn Gaul in 2008. She had already gained relevant experience during her training at Clifford Chance and in the legal department of Lufthansa AG. She is an expert in all matters of individual and collective labour law as well as employee data protection. The focus of her work is on spin-off and restructuring projects, the introduction of modern working methods, questions of flexible working hours and the implementation of IT projects in the company. She provides strategic advice on these issues as well as on implementation and regularly accompanies the related negotiations with trade unions and works councils.

With the latest addition, HR.Law by ARQIS has a total of 18 professionals at the Düsseldorf, Munich and Tokyo offices. On 1st January 2022, Dr. Hendrik von Mellenthin will be appointed as a partner within the team. Until 2017, he was a department director on the board of KfW Bankengruppe and initially joined ARQIS as a Managing Associate. He was promoted to Counsel at the beginning of 2020. At the same time, ARQIS appoints public lawyer Dr. Friedrich Gebert as a partner in the Risk focus group. He only joined the firm in May of this year as Counsel from Posser Spieth Wolfers & Partners.

Following the addition of former Allen & Overy Partner Tobias Neufeld in 2020, Dr. Andrea Panzer-Heemeier introduced the innovative advisory model HR.Law by ARQIS together with him. It is the comprehensive solution for the complex and digital HR challenges that companies face today. The team acts as a trusted advisor for HR managers and directors in national and international companies and corporations. We co-develope and implement their projects, reduce risks and answer questions holistically, regardless of which legal or specialist field the expertise has to come from.
