As of 1st January 2020, ARQIS appoints Mauritz von Einem The lawyer and tax advisor has been part of both the M&A/corporate and tax practice at the Munich ARQIS office since May 2018. Prior to this, Mauritz von Einem worked in the Hamburg office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He is particularly experienced in advising private equity funds, high net worth individuals and young tech companies whose transaction activities he accompanies from both a corporate and tax law perspective.

Mauritz von Einem has recently acquired various private equity funds as clients, but also deepened his traditional M&A work. Most recently, for example, he and his team advised SkyFive GmbH on the acquisition of Nokia’s air-to-ground business and Liberta Partners on the structuring of their second fund and first investments.

In addition, ARQIS is appointing Dr. Hendrik von Mellenthin – formerly Managing Associate – as Counsel and four of its Associates as Managing Associates.

Associates will be accompanied on their career path by one of the ARQIS partners as a mentor. In addition to the “Training on the Job”, the Associates receive theoretical training within the framework of the ARQIS Academy . Approximately three years after joining as an Associate, a decision on the appointment as Managing Associate is usually made. The Managing Associates are prepared for later admission into the partnership with selected further training courses.

At ARQIS, counsel status is not only intended as a permanent position, but from 2019 also a regular step on the way to partnership. For this purpose, the Counsel position has been restructured with an attractive compensation. The direct promotion from Managing Associate to Salary Partner is in principle still possible. The Counsel position gives the Partner candidates more time for intensive preparation, which is accompanied by the ARQIS Academy and above all individual support measures such as individual coaching.
