ARQIS advises Kornmeyer Carbon-Group GmbH on entry of Nippon Carbon in Kogo Kornmeyer Graphit

ARQIS has advised Kornmeyer Carbon-Group GmbH (“KCG”) on the sale of 49 % of its shares in Kogo Kornmeyer Graphit GmbH (“Kogo”) to Nippon Carbon Co., Ltd. (“Nippon Carbon”).

KCG is a family-operated holding company of a group of companies engaged in the business of manufacturing and selling components made of graphite, CFC and carbon-based insulating materials by Kogo, among other businesses. Kogo, with its registered place of business in Windhagen, is a subsidiary of KCG and handles the group’s graphite business.

Nippon Carbon is listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is based in Tokyo, Japan. It is manufacturing and selling carbon fiber products used in the field of aircraft construction and other industry sectors as well as many other carbon related products.

With this alliance, KCG intends to expand the development of new products and the improvement of customer service together with Nippon Carbon. Additionally, the parties aim to improve their position in the European and surrounding markets with this transaction, especially in the area of heat treatment, furnace manufacture, solar and silicon.
