01. August 2022

ARQIS is continuing its ongoing expansion. In recent months the team had already grown to a new total of around 80 professionals at the Düsseldorf, Munich and Tokyo offices and is now further investing in the build-up of its senior level. Donata Lasson and Dr Astrid Seehafer, M.Sc. are joining the HR.Law and Litigation department, respectively, as Counsel effective August 1st, 2022. Both lawyers previously worked at renowned international law firms and will contribute to ARQIS’ success as a big law boutique with their long-standing expertise.

Donata Lasson has more than 12 years of experience as an employment lawyer at Freshfields and will continue this career as part of ARQIS’ HR.Law team. In the interim she worked as an author and then joined McDermott Will Emery at its Düsseldorf/Cologne office. Her focus is on multinational transactions, restructurings and litigation. She is bilingual and has long years of experience advising US investors in connection with German investments.

Dr Astrid Seehafer, M.Sc. is transferring to ARQIS from Freshfields, where she specialized in advising clients on product compliance and product liability. She is a proven expert in defending product liability claims and providing regulatory advice on the development, production and distribution of products, matters of sustainability and the implementation of cross-border product recalls. With a PhD in law and as an economist, she has many years of sector expertise in regulated industries, in particular in the fields of consumer goods and life sciences, and in advising technology companies. At ARQIS, Dr Seehafer will further expand the Litigation department in the Risk focus group, also acting as an important interface to Public & Regulatory Law.

“In Donata Lasson and Dr Astrid Seehafer we are adding two very experienced and distinguished lawyers to our team, in their respective areas of expertise,” says Dr Andrea Panzer-Heemeier, Managing Partner at ARQIS. “We look forward to working with them and wish them both a great start.” Dr Mirjam Boche, Head of the Risk focus froup, adds: “The successful establishment of the Public & Regulatory department shows that ARQIS is on the right track with its big law boutique strategy. Growing our Litigation department and adding Product Compliance as a new field, with a special focus on product-related sustainability matters, is another milestone for us on this path.”
