ARQIS expands presence in Berlin as Talent Hub becomes third German office

Successful talent development, a strong regulatory practice and close ties to political and regulatory decision-making processes make the Talent Hub Berlin ARQIS’s third German office.

ARQIS is strengthening its presence in the German capital. From October 2026, the law firm will move into new premises at Potsdamer Platz 1, the Kollhoff-Tower. Established in 2022, the Talent Hub will now become a fully-fledged ARQIS office, reflecting the firm's sustained growth and creating further opportunities for cross-practice and cross-office collaboration.

When ARQIS launched the Talent Hub, the primary objective was to attract outstanding legal talent. The aim was to enable highly qualified lawyers to work on complex mandates across the firm from a base in Berlin. The city was deliberately chosen for its proximity to political decision-makers and regulatory developments.

“From the very beginning, our goal for the Talent Hub was to give excellent lawyers in Berlin the opportunity to join ARQIS and take on responsibility at an early stage of their careers,” explained Dr. Friedrich Gebert, Managing Partner of ARQIS. “Today, Berlin is a strategically important part of our firm and a location with considerable potential for further growth,” added Dr. Shigeo Yamaguchi, Senior Partner of the firm.

The firm's Regulatory focus group has been one of the key drivers of the Berlin office's growth in recent years. ARQIS advises clients on German and European regulatory issues in an increasingly complex legal environment. The focus group has developed particular expertise in matters relating to renewable energy and M&A. This development was recently confirmed by its inclusion in the JUVE ranking "Energy: Regulation".

At the same time, the Berlin office has expanded well beyond its regulatory practice. It now brings together lawyers from a growing number of ARQIS focus groups. Clients across the Berlin metropolitan area benefit by gaining access to a broader range of advisory services locally, closer collaboration across specialist disciplines, and a firm with a strong presence at the heart of Germany's political, economic, and regulatory decision-making.
