ARQIS has advised Minebea Co., Ltd. and its partner Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) on the acquisition of Industrial Technologies Division from Sartorius AG. The transaction is subject to regulatory clearance by the antitrust authorities.
According to the agreement signed on 19 December 2014, Minebea and DBJ will acquire 51 % respectively 49 % of all shares in Sartorius Mechatronics T&H GmbH from Sartorius, a leading international laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment provider.
The Industrial Technologies Division of Sartorius is specialized in industrial weighing and control technologies. It consists of Sartorius MTH and its subsidiaries and recorded sales revenue of 102 million Euros for fiscal year 2013. The division employs around 700 employees, 350 of whom work at its German sites in Hamburg, Aachen and Bovenden. The production facilities are located in Germany, India and China and the sales subsidiaries are located in several European countries as well as U.S.A and Japan.
