ARQIS advises Alloheim on the acquisition of AGO Group

28. July 2016

ARQIS has advised Alloheim Senioren-Residenzen SE on the acquisition of AGO Betriebsgesellschaft für Sozialeinrichtungen mbH and its subsidiaries. The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities and will take place retroactively as of July 1, 2016.

AGO is headquartered in Cologne and currently operates 14 senior residence centers throughout Germany, with about 1,300 nursing beds, three outpatient service centers and about 190 assisted-living apartments. AGO was founded in 2001; over the years, it has mainly grown by building new care facilities. The Alloheim Group, based in Düsseldorf, is one of the larger private operators of care facilities. With this acquisition, it will grow to a total of about 17,000 nursing beds and assisted-living apartments.

Rainer Hohmann, Alloheim’s Managing Director, says: “With AGO, we are pleased to be acquiring a young, modern company. AGO is a solid, constantly growing company thanks to its attractive new buildings.”

The ARQIS team around Dr. Jörn-Christian Schulze has been advising Alloheim on numerous add-on acquisitions since 2010, most recently with the acquisition of the Senator Group in late 2015. ARQIS also regularly advises Alloheim on real estate matters.

RIAG GmbH – with a team led by Wladimir Safoschnik – supported Alloheim additionally in the current acquisition of the AGO Group.
